RE-ELECT JOHN COTUGNO
A PROVEN LEADER FOR CITY COUNCIL

I am now looking forward to running for reelection to further my service to the citizens of Vero Beach and our Community. Please honor me, as you did in 2021, with your vote.

About

John hails from Rhode Island but landed in Vero Beach after retiring from over 40 years of leadership in the electronics Industry primarily in the Semiconductor market. He immediately began serving our community as a Volunteer Public Policy Advocate for the Alzheimer’s  Association on both the State and Federal level. In 2019: Governor DeSantis appointed him to the State Health Improvement Plan Committee, he was appointed both to the Vero Beach Utilities Commission, where he served as Vice-Chairman, and the Three Corners Steering Committee.

He was elected to the Vero Beach City Council in 2021 and began serving as Mayor in 2022.

He resides in Central Beach with his wife, Jan Williams, and rescue dog Roxie.

Why I'm Running for City Council

I have executed on my promise to be a  new type of leader who really listens to all the citizens, takes fresh approaches to issues, and is moving projects forward. As a member of the City Council, and continuing as Mayor, I constantly reach out to various city stakeholders, listen to different opinions, learn what is needed by our community, and then knit together these differing opinions to build consensus and craft viable solutions. A good example of this consensus building is the coordination of the various pieces of a Downtown Master Plan that includes an innovative private-public-nonprofit partnership revitalizing the “jewel” of our downtown area- Pocahontas Park. I want to continue to be that driving force that moves projects forward in our community.

I have been a steadfast advocate for community engagement and inclusion.  My sincere belief is that transparent government is one that solicits and values the inputs of the community. By making myself available to all citizens and businesses, I have actively been promoting an environment for open communications. I have handed out hundreds of business cards to people inviting them to  them to share their vision for our community and get answers to their questions.

Continuing Forward

Continuing Forward

In my last campaign, I promised a completely fresh set of eyes/ ears, as well as to use my abilities as a strategic thinker and consensus builder- and I believe I am fulfilling that promise.  I strive to make a positive difference in our city, and I will continue to be direct and forthright on the issues. There is still a lot of work to be done and obstacles to cross.  When I am hopefully reelected, I will continue to be a unifying force in advancing Vero’s planned initiatives.  I am proud of my record and what we have accomplished so far with this City Council.

My only obligation will be to do what is best for Vero Beach; the residents of Vero Beach are my special interest group.

Please vote for John Cotugno for City Council on Tuesday, November 7th.
